People Inc. to offer internet services for those impacted by COVID-19
A Southwest Virginia non-profit is working to bridge the digital divide in the region by offering internet access, especially for those impacted by COVID-19.
People Inc. has launched a program to provide this service, and will set up accounts in addition to paying for six months of internet service for individuals that qualify. Those who qualify for the program include individuals that have been impacted by the pandemic, like the loss of a job, the need for school children to connect to virtual learning that do not have proper access, and more.
The agency says additional requirements include income eligibility. Interested individuals can learn more about the program by calling People Inc. at 833-962-2039.
The services were provided by emergency CARES Act funding and is available to residents in the City of Bristol, Buchanan County, Clarke County, Culpeper County, Dickenson County, Fauquier County, Frederick County, Manassas City, Manassas Park City, Page County, Prince William County, Rappahannock County, Russell County, Shenandoah County, Warren County and Washington County, Virginia.
