28 Years: Feb. 28th marked anniversary of Elizabethton native and ATF agent McKeehan killed in Waco siege

February 28 will be forever shrouded in tragedy for a Northeast Tennessee family.

Sunday marked the 28th anniversary of the federal government raid on the compound of the religious sect of the Branch Davidians in Waco, Texas that resulted in the death of four agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms who were serving a search warrant.

One of those agents was Elizabethton High School graduate Todd McKeehan, 28, a Marine Corp veteran who served in Operation Desert Storm prior to his ATF duties in New Orleans.

McKeehan was laid to rest in his hometown with full military honors and a bridge located on Highway 19E bears his name in tribute.
