Tennessee Moving Into Phase 1c Vaccination Plan Beginning Monday
Tennessee Health Commissioner Dr. Lisa Piercey says beginning Monday, the state will move into Phase 1c of its vaccination plan.
Piercey made that announcement in a briefing Tuesday, which includes individuals ages 16 and older who have high-risk medical conditions. The state is also receiving 54,000 Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 doses on Wednesday, on top of a combined 192,000 Pfizer and Moderna vaccines the state will receive this week.
Piercey indicated to media that vaccine shipments could increase by 30 to 40 percent in the last week of March, which could surge the amount of vaccine doses received by the state to over 300 thousand per week.
