Tennessee expands groups eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccine under Phase 1c
Additional high-risk groups are now eligible to get vaccinated under Phase 1c in Tennessee.
Health Commissioner Dr. Lisa Piercey in an update Tuesday says the plan now includes anyone 16 and older who are household contacts of pregnant women, those with diabetes, those with down syndrome, and those with progressive neuromuscular diseases like ALS, multiple sclerosis, or muscular distrophy.
Phase 1c includes residents 16 and older with high-risk medical conditions, and Piercey said as Phase 1c COVID vaccines started earlier this week, 30-40% of Tennesseans are now eligible to get inoculated.
