Virginia State Police Say Bristol Tennessee Man Shot And Killed In Officer Involved Shooting

Virginia State Police have identified a Bristol Tennessee man who was shot and killed in an officer involved shooting early Tuesday morning. Shortly before 430 am Tuesday Bristol Virginia Police received a 911 call from an occupant at the Rodeway Inn on Euclide Avenue in the 22 hundred block of shots fired. When officers arrived they encountered 31 year old Jonathen B Kohler seated in the drivers seat of a 1994 Ford Mustang. Kohler refused to exit his vehicle, despite repeated commands by the officers, Kohler then put the vehicle into drive and sped towards one of the officers. That officer fired at the suspect’s vehicle as it came at him. Kohler was hit and died from his injuries at the scene. No officers were hurt in the incident, which is being investigated by Virginia State Police.
