THP investigating fiery crash in Carter County that left three hospitalized, including two children
Tennessee state troopers are continuing an investigation into a fiery crash that left a woman and two toddlers hospitalized Friday night in Carter County.
Tennessee Highway Patrol says the wreck occurred just before 10:30 p.m on State Route 67 near Horseshoe Cove Dr. when a Hyundai Tuscon driven by Jessica Davis, 37, of Mountain City, crossed into the opposite lane and left the roadway. The vehicle sideswipped one tree and struck a second tree head on, causing the Hyundai to burst into flames.
Davis and two four year olds were transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. The report listed that Davis was not wearing her seatbelt while the two children were restrained. Charges are pending in the accident.
