Police: Prior argument led to second Virgil Avenue shooting in Kingsport

A prior disagreement escalated to gunfire Sunday evening on a Kingsport street.

The suspects had already left the 300 block of Virgil Avenue in the Lynn Garden community when officers arrived at 9:30. That is when police were notified of a gunshot victim being treated at an area hospital.

A report from the Kingsport Police Department said the victim received non-life-threatening injuries and told investigators they came to the street to try and stop a feud.

Police said this incident was unrelated to another shooting that also took place on Virgil Avenue that evening.
