Suspects in murder of 10-year-old Carter County girl appear in Criminal Court
The three men charged with the murder of a Central Elementary School fifth-grader made an appearance in Carter County Criminal Court on Monday.
Jason Bryan Barber, 18, and, Jediah Shane Glover, 20, had their first hearing after their indictment earlier this year on charges of first-degree murder of Lillyhannah Davis, the 10-year-old struck in the head with a bullet while sleeping in the living room of her home following a drive-by shooting in November.
The third suspect, Zachary Scott Scalf, 20, will have his case presented to the next session of the grand jury scheduled for May 3, according to a court representative. He is facing charges of murder, conspiracy, and nine counts of aggravated assault.
