Governor, House Speaker endorse Ayala in Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor primary race
Prince William County Delegate Hala Ayala received endorsements from Virginia Governor Ralph Northam and House Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn in her run for the Democratic nod for Lieutenant Governor.
Northam credited Ayala with being a part of the transformational progress in the Democrat-controlled House while Filler-Corn said Ayala’s work was essential in a group of new laws aimed at criminal justice reform.
Ayala is one of six Lieutenant Governor candidates that will run in the June primary. The Virginia Public Access Project reports that fellow Delegate and candidate Sam Rasoul of Roanoke has the fundraising lead in the race.
