State Police report fatality in Tazewell County wreck when vehicle hits a house

Virginia State Police continue to investigate a Sunday wreck in Tazewell County where a sedan crashed into a home.

The single-car incident occurred just after 11:30 that evening in the 700 block of Adria Road in North Tazewell. The report said Steve A. Viney, II, 34, was traveling on Route 16 when the car left the road then hit the home causing the vehicle to overturn.

Viney was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Amy L. Quick, 45, was transported for treatment of serious injuries. One of the two occupants inside the home suffered minor injuries.

A preliminary review of the crash suggests speed was a factor.
