Johnson City man charged after firing gun following domestic situation
A Johnson City, Tennessee man is accused of physically assaulting family members during a scuffle Monday morning.
Spencer B. Cox, 21, of South Roan Street, is charged with aggravated domestic assault and reckless endangerment.
Investigators said Cox had fought verbally with his mother and her boyfriend at the home while his child was inside. The mother and child left the area then police received a report of shots fired just before 11:30.
A neighbor told police she heard the shot go off in the direction of her home. Officers recovered a loaded handgun from Cox’s room and a spent bullet casing in the backyard.
Cox was taken to jail in Jonesborough and was issued a $7,500 bond.
