Youngkin secures GOP nod for November governor’s race in Virginia
A check of final votes tallied in Richmond showed Glenn Younkin victorious in his race to be the GOP challenger in November’s governor’s race in Virginia.
Youngkin secured the win when Pete Snyder conceded after the sixth round of vote counting of convention ballots from around the state. Sen. Amanda Chase made a strong showing in third despite censure from her General Assembly colleagues earlier this year.
Democrats will choose their candidate next month and all polls and signs point to Terry McAuliffe who will seek his second stay in the governor’s mansion.
Prepare yourself for a mountain of political ads from both candidates through the fall as both McAuliffe and Youngkin have millions in their political war chests.
