Former delegate, Marine veteran Winsome Sears tapped as Virginia GOP lieutenant governor nominee
The GOP ticket for November’s election in Virginia is set with party delegates selecting former House member and Marine veteran Winsome Sears as their candidate for Lieutenant Governor.
Sears, 57, has effectively been out of politics since her last session in Richmond in 2004. She has served as vice president for the Virginia Board of Education and most recently chaired the Black Americans to Re-Elect President Trump organization.
She joins gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin and Attorney General nominee Jason Miyares following convention selections that took place over the weekend with votes tabulated since Monday.
