NEW: Southwest Virginia’s McClung to pursue NBA, forgo 21-22 season at Texas Tech
Former Gate City standout Mac McClung will not be returning to Texas Tech as he’ll pursue a spot in the NBA.
McClung announced his decision to forgo his second season as a Red Raider in a Tweet on Monday. The 2018 state champion and VHSL single season scoring record holder averaged nearly 15 points per game between his three seasons at Georgetown and Texas Tech, and earned a Big-East all Freshmen team honor in 2019.
