Pay raise coming for TDOC probation, parole officers
Parole and probation officers who work in the Tennessee Department of Corrections system will soon get a bump in pay.
The pay raises include a significant jump in starting salaries as well as a guaranteed rate of pay increase of 7.5%. Gov. Bill Lee and the General Assembly announced the pay increase back in 2019, but it was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s just one of several moves the state corrections department has made to recruit and retain employees, and follows an announcement last month that new correctional officer hires would get a $5,000 hiring bonus.
