Bristol residents take to “Smell My City” to vent over landfill smell
The Bristol Virginia landfill continues to receive complaints about the foul odor surrounding the area after over a year. The outcry from residents pushed the city to begin structural repairs in February, yet the complaints have not slowed.
Bristol residents have even taken to an app called “Smell My City” to discuss and report bad odors surrounding the landfill. The app has seen over one thousand entries from locals talking about the smell.
Contrary to the massive number of online complaints, the in-person public meetings regarding the landfill have lacked input from residents. According to Bristol Herald Courier, only six or seven homeowners showed for the landfill discussion and update.
