Tennessee gun rights group warns weapon owners to obtain permit despite new constitutional law
Governor Bill Lee announced in February 2020 that he was endorsing constitutional carry gun legislation that now becomes law in Tennessee.
Adults that meet specified guidelines such as no prior felonies or a DUI charge in the last 5 years can possess a weapon but the Tennessee Firearms Association says residents should not rely on the permitless carry law and obtain an enhanced gun permit instead because that gives the gun owner more options as to when and where the gun can be taken.
Tennessee now becomes the 18th state to enact a constitutional carry statute.
