Charges Now Pending In Church Hill Fourth Of July Shooting
Charges are now pending against one of two men injured in a Fourth Of July shooting in Church Hill. Police Chief Chad Mosley says the bizarre incident occurred Sunday evening around nine o’clock at the two hundred block of Armstrong Drive. As officers arrived they found 40 year old William Arthur Meade Jr with a gunshot wound to the lower leg. Police discovered that 38 year old Brandon Beard arrived at the residence and a altercation took place. Beard then reportedly pulled a gun on Meade. Several people standing by attempted to take the gun from Beard when it discharged and struck both men. Beard fled the scene, but was later located in Surgoinsville, suffering from a gunshot would to the groin. Meade was flown to a local hospital, and Beard was taken by ambulance. Both men’s condition is unknown at this time.
