Commonwealth’s Attorney Dropping Criminal Cases Against 31 Individuals After Police Department DIsbands

The Commonwealth’s Attorney for Wise and the City of Norton says the Town Council for the Town of Pound Virginia created a situation with the preservation of evidence in numerous pending cases is now being questioned. Because of that Commonwealth’s Attorney Chuck Slemp is withdrawing criminal cases against 31 individuals facing various charges by the now out of business Pound Police Department. The Pound Town Council recently made a decision to eliminate the police department. Slemp made the statements in a release from his office.
