Wise County Virginia Students To Begin School Wearing Masks

All Wise County Public School students, beginning Monday will be required to wear a mask while indoors at school due to rising COVID-19 cases, triggered by the defiant Delta Variant of COVID19. In a letter from the school system on Friday, schools officials say the decision was made based on consultations with the LENOWISCO Health District and recommendations from the Center’s for Disease and Control after case rates continue to rise. The school system will continue to evaluate COVID conditions and could revert back to less restrictive measures if current conditions improve and hope these efforts will keep Wise County from shutting down schools due to the increase in cases.
