South Side Elementary’s Morgan Rankin tabbed Tennessee Teacher of the Year

The Tennessee Department of Education has announced the selection of a Johnson City instructor as 2021-22 Teacher of the Year.

Second-grade teacher Morgan Rankin of South Side Elementary was tabbed with the honor after being selected as one of nine finalists statewide.

Education Commissioner Penny Schwinn said Morgan is an example of dedication and commitment in her field. More than 200 nominees were submitted for evaluation for the award.
