Recovery Efforts Expected To Be Lengthy In Hurley, Virginia
With one reported fatality, and now all persons accounted for, emergency crews and others turn their attention to what is expected to be a lengthy recovery period for residents in Hurley Virginia. Crews are now clearing debris after rain on Tuesday slowed those efforts. A command center is now located at the Trey Adkins Athletic Center. Officials are asking the public to stay away from Guesses Fork Road unless authorized. For some, Grundy Baptist Church has become home as it is now serves as a rescue shelter. And the Virginia National Guard began delivering food and supplies to residents on Guesses Fork road Thursday. Donations are still in need from the public and can be dropped off at the Church located on Edgewater Drive.
