July, was the sixth full month of legal sports betting in Virginia. Bettors have wagered almost one and a half billion dollars since December. But in July, the Virginia Lottery saw the number of bets placed on sporting events drop 31 percent from the previous month. The lottery has generated more than million dollars in taxes and has provided almost 250 thousand dollars for treatment and support for problem gambling.
