Johnson City Schools Will Continue Mask Mandate
Johnson City School students will have to wear a mask till January or until positive rates of the raging COVID-19 virus drop significantly. That decision was made last night at the Johnson City School Board meeting. But not before several parents spoke out against the mandate. Jason Hayes is a parent of a student and a local physician who pleaded with the Board to make their decision based on science which he says shows masks do not work. Superintendent Dr. Steve Barnett says the school system has everything in place and the current mask mandate is working. Barnett says his department will continue to monitor and evaluate safety protocols.
