Johnson City Fire Department hosting fire safety event downtown
The Johnson City Fire Department has teamed up with the National Fire Association to bring a Prevention Week campaign to the city. This year’s campaign happens October 3rd through the 9th. It works to educate the public about simple but important actions they can take to keep their households fire safe. The Fire Prevention Week will kick off with a fire safety event that includes extinguisher demonstrations, car seat checks, and sound education—which provides examples of alarm and siren sounds to listen for. JCFD will offer free smoke detectors at this event. The fire safety event happens at the Founders Park Pavilion on Sunday at 3 PM.
