UPDATE: Coach of Smyth County wrestling traveling team indicted on charges related to illicit texts

The coach of a traveling wrestling team arrested earlier this year has been indicted by a Smyth County grand jury.

Justin Troy Lefler, 45, was charged with taking indecent liberties with a child and soliciting nude photos over the internet following an investigation by the county sheriff’s office.

An investigator said the 14-year-old child and their parent came forward in December and presented the illicit texts to police for review. Police noted the team is not affiliated with the Smyth County school system.
