Elizabethton woman dies following fire at her home

A death investigation is underway following a house fire Sunday night in Carter County.

A sheriff’s office report said Mary Lou Livingston, 83, was found unresponsive inside her home located on Dayton Hayes Circle in Elizabethton.

Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful and Livingston was pronounced dead later at a local hospital. The TBI is assisting in the case.
