Unicoi man and woman accused of identity theft; used stolen card more than 40 times

A man and woman from Unicoi were charged with identity theft and theft of property by Johnson City Police after stealing a victim’s credit card and using it more than 40 times without permission. A Johnson City Police report says Tara Laughren and Tony Hughes took the victim’s credit card without permission and made approximately 42 fraudulent purchases inside and outside of Johnson City. The two were taken into custody without incident and are being held on an $11,000 bond.
