UPDATE: LOCATED SAFELY, Virginia State Police issues senior alert for missing 77-year-old Bedford County man

UPDATE: Bernard Thomas has been located and is safe.

Virginia State Police issued a senior alert on Wednesday on behalf of the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office. Police ask the public to be on the lookout for missing 77-year-old Bernard Thomas. Thomas suffers from a cognitive impairment and this disappearance poses a credible threat to his health and safety.

Bernard Thomas is a black male who is 5 foot 8 inches and weighs 180 pounds. He was last seen on November 30th in Forest, Virginia. Thomas is wearing a purple and black sweater with gray pants. Officials say he was driving a 1998 green Toyota Avalon with Virginia tags. Any information regarding Bernard Thomas’ whereabouts should be directed to the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office.
