Bluff City, Sullivan County Law Enforcement Officers Injured In Wednesday Night Crash
UPDATE, 12:20 p.m.
Two police officers were injured in two separate crashes Wednesday night in Bluff City.
A preliminary review from the Tennessee Highway Patrol said a town department SUV went over an embankment on Highway 390 striking two utility poles and injuring Officer Caleb Rojex, 28, of Bristol, Tennessee.
Sullivan County Deputy William Jones was responding to that crash and brought his patrol cruiser to a stop when it was hit from behind by another police vehicle driven by Deputy Jessica Justice, 26, of Kingsport. Jones also received medical treatment.
The THP says charges are pending.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol continues to investigate a crash Wednesday night in Sullivan County that injures several law enforcement officers in the Town of Bluff City. A Bluff City Police Officer responding to a call on state route 390 at a high rate of speed, ran off the roadway hitting several utility poles. The officer was injured. Meanwhile Another responding officer from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office stopped in the roadway with its emergency lights flashing. A second Sullivan County Deputy also responding failed to see the first responding officer and crashed into the rear of the deputy’s cruiser, injuring the Sullivan County deputy as well.
