Dobyns Bennett Captures First Basketball Championship Since 1945

The Dobyns-Bennett High School Basketball Team returned to a hero’s welcome Sunday afternoon as a large crowd and the DB Band welcomed home the Tennessee State 4A Basketball Championship Trophy. The Indians from Kingsport, won three games, two in overtime, the last on Saturday as DB defeated Knoxville Bearden 69-60. It was the TRIBE’S first State Basketball Championship since 1945.
