Former Pound High School Being Torn Down

As the future of the small town of Pound Virginia hangs in the balance, with a deadline approaching to straighten out its financial and other government functions, a long standing, but vacant Pound High School is being demolished. Crews are tearing down the former brick school building that’s been empty since Wise County closed the facility in 2014. Officials hope to develop the land for commercial or residential use.
