Man in Hampton firing up to a dozen shots from home subdued by Carter County officers
Officers with the Carter County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office were able to subdue a Hampton man who threatened to harm himself while firing a gun from his home.
The incident took place in the 800 block of Rittertown Road. An office report said the man who had barricaded himself fired up to a dozen shots while deputies tried to speak with the individual and offer help.
The man was then assisted by officers who administered first aid due to a laceration on his arm. The report noted the man set a piece of furniture on fire causing damage to the home.
