Virginians bet $460 million on sports in March
The Virginia Lottery released its sports betting activity report for the month of March. Officials say more than $460 million was wagered by Virginians last month, and bettors won more than $430 million, an operators win percentage of 7.18 percent. This marks the second highest monthly wagering activity since the record performance in january of this year. Officials say the uptick in betting is primarily accredited to the NCAA men’s college basketball tournament, which alone saw $109 million in wagering activity in Virginia.
Last month, twelve licensed operators were active and accepting mobile sports wagers in the Commonwealth, the most recent being Hard Rock Digital, which comes just ahead of the opening of the Hard Rock Bristol Casino.
