Goats back to work on Kingsport’s Cement Hill
The goats in Kingsport are back to work. City officials say a herd of nearly one hundred goats has been tasked with clearing the Cement Hill property of brush and weeds, ahead of its development into a park later this year. These goats will eat as much of the overgrowth as they can, which is a safe and environmentally-friendly method of clearing brush.
Goats can eat away at areas that equipment cannot reach, such as steep hills. This keeps city maintenance staff safe, and lessens the need for chemical use. The public is welcome to spectate the goats at a distance on the Cement Hill property in Kingsport.
