Kingsport Woman Dead Following South Holston Boating Accident

A 23 year old Kingsport woman is dead following a boating crash accident Monday on South Holston Lake. According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, Samantha Jo Hess was killed when the personal water craft she was as passenger on crashed with a deck boat carrying three passengers. The driver of the personal water craft was flown to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Both Hess, and the driver, were wearing flotation devices at the time of the crash. No one on board the other vessel was injured, and the accident remains under investigation.
