Virginia Law Enforcement To Receive State Raises From Budget Passage
Teachers in southwest Virginia aren’t the only ones receiving a raise from a recently approved Commonwealth budget, as law enforcement personnel are expecting to see an increase come their way as well. Virginia State Police Association officials say entry level troopers could see their pay increase to about 52 thousand dollars a year. Under the plan the minimum salary for correctional officers and sheriff’s deputies jumps to 42 thousand dollars a year, a 19 percent increase.
