Kingsport Police React To Video Depicting Officers Making Arrest

Kingsport Police say a video depicting officers pinning a Felony suspect to the ground and another officer punching the suspect was minimal force and justified. The video circulating on social media takes place on Stone Drive as officers tell suspect Dustin Rice to get out of the car repeatedly. When he does, Rice runs from police who are now in pursuit with guns drawn and a K9 assisting. The video goes on to show the officers pinning Rice to the ground, and one officer punches him before he stops resisting and is arrested. The police department also noted Rice has resisted arrest before and force had to be used in that incident as well.
