Kingsport Moving Ahead With Massive Water Meter Replacement Project

The City of Kingsport continues moving forward on a four point eight million dollar water meter replacement project and are announcing several developments in connection to the work. Customers are now on a 30 days billing cycle and city staff continue to work towards returning all customers to their normal approximate due date. In addition, more than 17 thousand new water meters have been installed to date,allowing the city to obtain readings remotely. Ten thousand new water meters are expected to be installed by June of 2023.
