Record enrollment at Virginia Tech also includes most diverse group of freshmen
The student body at Virginia Tech includes another record enrollment and the highest percentage of diversity in the school’s history.
Tech President Tim Sands said 40 percent of new students are underrepresented minorities or underserved students–a strategic goal first announced in 2017. Those percentages include Pell-eligible students, first-generation enrollees, and veterans.
According to the report, Tech’s 45,000 new applicants in Blacksburg is nearly 8 percent higher than last year.
