Carter County Sheriff’s Office Employees Find Out Next Week About Raises
Next Thursday, 133 employees of the Carter County Sheriff’s Office will find out if they are getting a much needed raise. The Carter County Budget Committee recently voted to provide those employees with a five dollars per hour raise. The department has one of the lowest pay scales in the region and if approved Sheriff Mike Fraley says he believes it will put the department where they need to be to keep current employees, and attract new ones to help shore up a depleted sheriffs department that is being threatened with decertification due to staff shortages.
