New Abused Children’s Advocacy Center To Open In Southwest Virginia
A new children’s advocacy center is soon to open in Southwest Virginia. Sheriff’s offices, social services agencies and commonwealth’s attorney’s in Tazewell, Russell, and Buchanan Counties recently agreed to make the program official and have at their disposal a two hundred thousand dollar grant to make it happen. The center will offer forensic interviews, nurses to collect physical and sexual abuse data. Counseling will also be offered through Cumberland Mountain Community Services.
