Ballad Feeling Effects Of COVID, Sees More Than Nine Million Dollar First Quarter Loss

Ballad Health is reporting a nine and a half million dollar operating loss during the first quarter reporting period for 2023. Numerous hospitals, including Ballad are showing the effects of weathering through the COVID-19 pandemic, even though the health care provider showed operating gains during the pandemic. From 2020 to 2022 ballad received more than 200 million dollars in pandemic CARES Act funding, compared with just over one hundred thousand dollars in funding during the first quarter reporting period for 2023.
