Routine traffic stop leads to discovery of heroin in Johnson City
A routine traffic stop in Johnson City lead officers to find more than a gram of heroin and other paraphernalia. According to a report from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped a car for speeding on Woodlyn Road.
They identified the driver as Craig Smith, 31, of Jonesborough, who was driving on a revoked license due to a previous DUI. A K9 officer alerted on the vehicle, and upon search, deputies found 1.4 grams of heroin. Craig Smith was arrested on a $3,000 bond.
