BREAKING: NWS Morristown issues severe storm warning for East Tennessee

The National Weather Service in Morristown issued a severe storm warning Thursday afternoon for many parts of East Tennessee. The advisory says a severe storm warning is in effect through 3 PM on Jan. 12th for Johnson City, Greeneville, Erwin, and surrounding areas.

Wind gusts are expected up to 60 mph, and pea-sized hail may occur. Residents are encouraged to stay indoors and secure loose items outdoors.
