Johnson City Names Major As Interim Police Chief

Johnson City officials have named a Johnson City Police Major as Interim Police Chief, after the announcement of the retirement of Police Chief Karl Turner. Major Billy Church will assume those duties effective February 24. Major Church has been with the department for 28 years. Two others in the department are also retiring with Chief Turner, including Captain Kevin Peters who heads the Criminal Investigations Division and Sergeant Lorrie Goff, who leads the School Resource Officer program.
