THC Limits Could Wipe Out Hemp Industry
Legislation working its way through the General Assembly in Richmond regulating THC limits found in hemp, could wipe out the hemp industry. That’s the position among hemp farmers, manufacturers, distributors and retailers. Lawmakers argue cracking down on the intoxicating effects of the THC in hemp is necessary to protect consumers. One store owner says if the current legislation passes as is, it would effect 99 percent of the products the store sells. Negotiations are currently underway in the House and Senate and Governor Youngkin will also have a chance to make amendments to the legislation.
