Changes To Be Made At Observation Knob, Committee Approves Measures
The Sullivan County Observation Knob Committee is moving ahead with proposed changes to the popular camping site being made by Sullivan County Mayor Richard Venable. Among the changes including raising monthly fees to maintain a seasonal campsite from 185 dollars to 300 dollars during the summer season and decreasing the number of seasonal sites from 178 to 88. Venable says the price increases would generate an estimated 100 thousand dollars in additional revenue. The committee met Monday night to make the changes despite opposition from several campers who attended the gathering.
