Kingsport Pedestrian, Dog Killed In Ridgefields Hit And Run

Kingsport Police investigators are searching for a suspect who hit and killed a pedestrian and his dog, while walking in a Kingsport neighborhood on Thursday night. Kingsport Police say in a news release that 40 year old Stephen A. Jackson was walking his dog on a leash in the 300 block of Ridgefields Road around 620 pm Thursday. A red 2002 Subaru Impreza, compact four door sedan was traveling north bound when for unknown reasons the vehicle left the right side of the roadway when it struck Jackson and his dog. Jackson succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital, while the dog perished on the scene. Police recovered the suspect vehicle in Mount Carmel. The investigation is ongoing.
