Federal Judge Delays Decision On Landfill Lawsuit Between Two Bristol Municipalities
Both Bristol, Tennessee and Bristol, Virginia attorneys spoke to a Federal Court Judge in Abingdon on Tuesday concerning the closure of the troubled Bristol, Virginia landfill. The two sides have already submitted a proposal for Bristol, Tennessee to receive 300 thousand dollars and multiple mitigation steps before completely closing the landfill. Judge James P. Jones decided Tuesday to delay judgement on the matter since the court requires comment by relevant federal agencies before approving a settlement.
